Fastwood DIY Friendly

Fastwood is a prefinished, real wood floorcovering. It is usually installed as a floating floor this method of installation is ideal for DIY, Fastwood also can be glued directly to the subfloor if preferred. Floating floor installation is a simple method of installing a wood floor over an existing floor. The floor is not usually attached to the subfloor at all, but sits on top of a waterproof and sound absorbing Underlay. The mass of the floor keeps it in place, while allowing the wood to naturally expand and contract without cracking or gapping.

Surface structure creates a rhythm

You can select floors with two or three strips from the Fastwood collection. The number of strips refers to the number of parallel parts of which the board surface is constructed. Two-strip comprise of two pieces that have been composed into two rows and three-strip boards comprise several pieces that have been composed into three rows.

Most of all, the number of strips has an effect on the liveliness and rhythm of a floor surface. The three-strip wooden classic is at its best in areas where expressive floors are appropriate. Three-strip boards are available for Mountain Ash Classic & Rosegum Classic For larger floors, it is advisable to select two strip Full Plank boards, with their more luxurious and integrated appearance.

Genuine wood body

Fastwood hardwood floor boards are manufactured entirely from genuine wood. Wood is a living material, contracting and expanding in accordance with the seasons and various conditions. It is essential for the frame structure parts of the boards and the wooden materials used in the frame to curtail

these natural movements. The cross-directionally glued three-layer structure of Fastwood boards is made in a way that effectively prevents the natural movements of wood resulting from humidity.

  3. Intermediate layer made of coniferous wood, with a crosswise grain direction with respect to the surface wood
